We will hold a session on Saturday March 20 in a nearby pub at which all musicians are welcome.

Spring Term Classes

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Classes at Cork Pipers’ Club start again on Thursday January 21.  Cost for the term of 12 classes is €100 as before. Beginners classes start at 7pm with improvers at 8pm.  Please register your interest on the Classes page.  We have a registration night in Wilton SMA Hall on Thursday January 14 from 7-7.30pm.  That is dependent on weather but we will be in touch with those of you who register interest on the site if we need to postpone the registration night due to bad weather.  Also check back here for any further updates.

We are re-introducing a club membership fee to help pay for running costs of the club.  To this end we will be looking for €20 from each member.  Non-pipers are also more than welcome to join the club.  Please contact us if you are interested.

Autumn 2009 Classes Starting

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

The Cork Pipers’ Club classes will recommence on September 24 at Wilton SMA Hall.  We will be registering at the same venue on September 21 from 7pm to 730pm.  If you can’t make that and would like to register, please leave a comment here or email me using the details on the Contact page.  Classes will cost €100 for a 12 week term.

For those of you who have loan sets from the club, we will be contacting you shortly as we may need to redistribute loan sets to newer members.  The aim of the loan sets is to give people a flavour of what uilleann pipes are like while you make up your mind if it’s for you but it should be for a short-term basis.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

Brendan Ring Pipes Workshop in South-West France

Monday, January 5th, 2009

The famed Brendan Ring is running piping workshops in a unique setting in the South-West of France. These will include pipe workshops and reed-making sessions and he will even give due care and attention to your uilleann pipes if they are in need of a service.  Can’t say fairer than that!

The cherry on top for these workshops is the unique location which is a chateau with four-poster beds.  The price includes two nights stay in the chateau with what looks like plenty of wine :) .

Please note, this isn’t a Cork Pipers Club venture, it just looks a really good idea!
